2021 SOVREN Car Corral
By David Glass
On July 3rd, Seattle Section racing enthusiasts enjoyed a day of watching the Pacific Northwest Historics Vintage Auto Races at Pacific Raceways. The Society Of Vintage Racing Enthusiasts (SOVREN), a Seattle-based non-profit organization, presents the vintage races for the benefit of uncompensated care at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Twelve MBCA members and guests in seven beautiful Mercedes automobiles participated in the Car Corral and lunchtime parade laps. Two of our Members had left their Mercedes at home. We met at the track, set up a membership recruiting tent, touched up our cars, and wandered off to see some of the other 150 collector cars in the Car Corral. The pits were open to spectators and gave an opportunity to see the competitor race cars up close. After the parade laps around the track, we settled in to watch the races and discuss the many classic automobiles. The weekend celebrated the 60th Anniversary of Jaguar E-type race cars.
We look forward to seeing you at the SOVREN event next year.
